"We are firm believers in learning through play"
We plan our sessions so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We introduce the concept of routine for key activities such as hand washing and tidy up.
Indoor and Outdoor Activities
Activities involve materials and experiences that challenge the children, providing learning opportunities that lead to the development of effective problem solving skills. Outdoor activities contribute to children's health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them.
Along with our outside space, at the pre-school we also have access to two large halls onsite where the children take part in physical activity and games that benefit their fitness, spacial awareness and co-ordination. The children have access to a large amount of exciting resources to enable them to learn about the world around them, as well as those provided in the indoor playrooms.
The setting makes snacks a social time at which children and adults eat together. We plan the menus for snacks so that they provide the children with healthy and nutritious food. Children help to prepare for and clean up after snack time, learning about teamwork, sharing and day to day life skills. Do tell us about your child's dietary needs and we will make sure that these are met.
